At Star Glazing™ , we take pride in the quality of our replacement windows & doors, and our replacement double-glazed glass units. This guarantee is our promise to you, ensuring peace of mind with every installation.

Replacement Windows & Doors

uPVC Frames - 10 years guarantee period: Guaranteed against any failure in welded joints, distortion and surface finish when adequately maintained in-line with manufacturer’s guarantee.

Aluminium Frames - 10 years guarantee period: Guaranteed against any failure in joints, distortion and coating when adequately maintained in-line with manufacturer’s guarantee.

IGU - 5 years guarantee period, whichever is the lesser: Guaranteed against the failure of hermetical seals (i.e. misting between panes).

Door Panels - 5 years: Guaranteed against any failure in joints, distortion and surface finish when adequately maintained in-line with manufacturer’s guarantee.

Hardware - 2 years: Guaranteed against any failure in Locking mechanisms, hinges and all metallic moving parts when adequately maintained in-line with manufacturer’s guarantee.

Workmanship

Workmanship Guarantee – 10 years: Guaranteed against physical faults or errors in the installation which have been caused by defective workmanship.

Building Regulations – 6 years: This guarantee covers a breach of the Building Regulations in force at the time of the completion of the works.

Conditions

1. Guarantee periods effective start date is shown on this guarantee as the commencement date.

2. Written permission is not required to assign Building Regulation guarantee activities to a third party which is freely transferable.

3. In the event of a dispute relating to the terms of this guarantee the Certass Certification nominated Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider shall be used to mediate any disputes.

4. Any failure of materials due to faulty workmanship under the term of this guarantee will be repaired or replaced at Star Glazing’s sole discretion.

Exemptions

1. No guarantee is given as to the elimination of condensation.

2. Cosmetic deterioration to handles, letter plates and door handles etc. due to general wear and tear are not covered by this guarantee.

3. All guarantees are given in good faith. However, if it is deemed after a visit from a company representative that our product has been misused, tampered or damaged in any way etc, we will render the guarantee null and void, leaving any remedial work to be carried out at a pre-arranged fee, which shall be payable before any work commences.

Your Legal Rights

This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect your legal protections regarding faulty or misdescribed products.

Replacement Double Glazed Units

1. Coverage

This guarantee applies to all replacement double-glazed glass units (Units) supplied and installed by Star Glazing Improvements Ltd.

2. Our Commitment

We guarantee to replace any defective Unit, including installation, at no cost to you—provided that the issue is reported to us in writing within 10 years of the installation date.

3. What’s Covered?

This guarantee applies only to the glass within the Unit. It does not cover additional hardware such as handles, locks, or fixings.

4. Exceptions

This guarantee does not cover defects or damage caused by:

• Natural disasters

• Theft

• Vandalism or criminal activity

• Thermal stress

• Accidental damage

• Normal wear and tear

• Misuse or lack of maintenance in accordance with our recommendations

• Minor cosmetic imperfections (e.g., fading of colour)

• Cracks in the glass unless reported within 4 weeks of installation

5. Replacements & Installation

• All replacement work will be carried out by our nominated professionals.

• You must provide reasonable access at a suitable time for us to complete the replacement.

6. Matching Replacements

• We will do our best to match any replacement glass as closely as possible.

• In cases where an exact match is not available (e.g., discontinued styles), we reserve the right to provide the closest alternative available.

7. Minor Imperfections

• Some minor imperfections may naturally occur in glass.

• If a dispute arises, we will follow the Glass and Glazing Federation’s standards for blemish acceptability.

8. Transferability

This guarantee is personal to you and cannot be transferred to another person.

9. Your Legal Rights

This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect your legal protections regarding faulty or misdescribed products.
